It was calling for rain. ALL. DAY.

Natalie and Chris had booked a maternity session with me to celebrate their growing family. We had planned a beach session, because it's summer and the beach should be sunny and beautiful right? Wrong.

It was raining all day.

I went out in the morning to a cafe with some friends. While I was expressing to them my disappointment in the weather and texting Natalie about the possibility of rescheduling, she assured me that they were fine if it was raining a little.

I was mostly concerned about their little girl being upset if she were to get totally soaked.

The shoot was scheduled for the evening in Port Bruce. I met up with Natalie and Chris in London, it rained my entire drive there.

We decided upon meeting up we would drive out to Port Bruce and take our chances, still the rain continued on.

BUT THEN...

We arrived in Port Bruce and a miracle happened. The rain stopped right as we arrived.

We gathered quickly on the pier, knowing we might only have a small window of time before the rain came again.

But it didn't, instead the clouds parted making the most ethereal and beautiful sun flares. The waves were high and crashing, creating an epic scene for us. Natalie and Chris were happy to walk into the lake, their daughter content to play with rocks on the shore.

This session has quickly become a favourite of mine, and to think it might not have happened without a little patience and perseverance.

What do you think? Was it worth waiting out the storm?
