Weddings are all about embracing the unexpected, and Emily and Oscar's September wedding did just that with a heartwarming twist on their original plans. This unique celebration took us to The Walper Hotel, Adventurer's Guild Café, and Evo Kitchen & Bar, where each setting added a special touch to their love story.
When the rain altered the original outdoor plans, The Walper Hotel in Kitchener graciously opened its second-floor lobby, creating a perfect spot for Emily and Oscar’s first look. Emily wore a stunning cape that cascaded over her shoulders, a modern alternative to the traditional veil that gave her look a timeless, ethereal vibe. Standing in his striking green suit, Oscar complemented Emily’s elegance with his unique sense of style. His jacket’s lining, adorned with toucans and palm tree leaves, added a splash of personality that showcased his lively character.
After a few emotional moments together, we captured family photos around the beautiful vintage decor of The Walper Hotel, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Emily and Oscar’s love story began at Adventurer’s Guild Café, so it was only fitting to return there to celebrate a part of their wedding day. At this board game café, they cozied up with hot drinks and a playful round of Unstable Unicorns, bringing a personal and nostalgic element to their wedding photos. The café's casual, warm atmosphere provided a unique contrast to the day’s formal wear and made for some beautifully candid moments.
From Kitchener, we moved to Evo Kitchen & Bar in Cambridge, where Emily and Oscar’s loved ones gathered for their ceremony. Friends and family played an important part, with each of them walking down the aisle alongside the couple—including their friend Dani, who charmed everyone as the flower girl! In a beautiful ritual symbolizing their new life together, Emily and Oscar planted a tree, which they will nurture and grow along with their marriage.
The surprises didn’t end there. After their first kiss, they announced to their guests that they had officially married last November, adding a sweet, secretive twist to their day!
Sneaking away post-ceremony, we captured some newlywed portraits with Oscar’s rose gold Tesla. The sleek, modern car was a fantastic addition to the photos, adding a chic, urban vibe to this romantic wedding. These images perfectly captured Emily and Oscar’s fun, contemporary style and were some of the day’s most memorable moments.
Guests enjoyed an intimate reception at Evo Kitchen & Bar, sharing heartfelt speeches and stories over dinner. Emily and Oscar’s first dance was a romantic highlight, setting the tone for an evening full of joy and celebration. As a special twist on wedding cake, Oscar’s mother and sister prepared a delicious homemade Tres Leches dessert, adding a personal family touch to the evening.
