June gave us the perfect mix of sunshine, a little sprinkle of rain, and a whole lot of love as Gabbie and Colin tied the knot. Their day was filled with sweet moments, a few surprises, and so much laughter—it was the kind of wedding you can’t help but smile thinking about.
The day started at Gabbie’s parents’ house, where she got ready with her bridesmaids. The house was buzzing with excitement, and you could feel how much love everyone had for her. In a sweet last-minute gesture, her maid of honour ran out to grab a special wedding perfume for Gabbie—such a thoughtful touch!
There was a bit of a hiccup when Gabbie got into her dress and we realized the clasp was broken. But, in true bridesmaid superhero fashion, one of her friends jumped in with a needle and thread to fix it. Crisis averted! We took some beautiful photos of Gabbie and her bridesmaids in the backyard by the rustic woodpile—the perfect cozy and earthy backdrop.
Their ceremony was held at Buncrana Golf Course in Hamilton, Ontario. This venue is a gem, with its open space, lush greenery, and a charming wooden arch overlooking the golf course. Guests walked through a serene forest path to get to the ceremony spot, and it felt like stepping into a fairytale.
The officiant, Gayle O’Brien, was an absolute joy to work with. She brought so much warmth to the ceremony. One of the most adorable moments was when Gabbie and Colin’s youngest son drove down the aisle in a white children’s Mercedes, complete with a sign on the back that said, “It’s time to give Mommy our last name.” Cue all the “awwws” from the guests!
The weather kept us on our toes, but luckily the rain held off during the ceremony, leaving us with just a light sprinkle afterwards. Gabbie and Colin’s mid-aisle dip kiss at the end of their vows was such a showstopper—everyone loved it.
The reception was set up under a beautiful tent adorned with greenery and floral arrangements. It felt cozy yet elegant, the perfect vibe for the night. Gabbie changed into a gorgeous floor-length blue dress for the evening, and it suited her so perfectly.
There were heartfelt speeches, lots of dancing, and so many candid moments of laughter. During family photos, Colin realized he had locked his keys and phone in his truck. While snapping photos, I also hopped on the phone with CAA to help him out. It’s little moments like these that make a wedding day so unique and memorable.
We even managed to gather everyone for a big group photo, which was such a special way to capture all the love and support for Gabbie and Colin. Seeing all their family and friends together was such a beautiful reminder of how cherished they are.
From start to finish, Gabbie and Colin’s wedding day was full of love, laughter, and a few little surprises that made it uniquely theirs. It’s these moments—the sweet gestures, the unexpected fixes, and the heartfelt connections—that make a wedding day so magical.
