When Emily and Oscar reached out to me about their engagement session, they had a clear vision in mind: The Lavender Farm in Cambridge, Ontario
This enchanting location, with its vibrant purple fields and charming barn, was the perfect backdrop for their love story. As a wedding and engagement photographer based in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, I knew this session would be something special. We scheduled the session for around 7 PM, capturing that magical time just before sunset. The low sun provided a beautiful, warm glow, casting sun flares that added a dreamy quality to the photos. The soft, golden light embraced Emily and Oscar, highlighting the love and joy that radiated between them. This time of day is perfect for engagement photos in Cambridge, providing a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
A Surprise Proposal
What Oscar didn't know was that Emily had planned something extra special. Prior to the session, Emily reached out to me with a heartfelt request. She wanted to propose to Oscar during our shoot, and I couldn't have been more thrilled to help her orchestrate this surprise. With everything in place I prompted them to stand back to back and take a few steps away from each other- giving Emily enough time to be down on one knee. When Oscar turned around Emily presented him with a rose gold Enso ring(his favourite colour) in a beautifully crafted box.
So much to explore...
After the proposal, we continued the session, exploring the various picturesque spots The Lavender Farm had to offer. From the vibrant lavender fields to the rustic charm of the barn, each location added a unique element to their photos. Emily and Oscar's love was palpable, and it shone through in every frame. Their laughter, tender glances, and the way they held each other spoke volumes. We had so much fun getting to know each other ahead of their big day this fall. Emily and Oscar love video games, cosplay and creating!
