Olivia and Tyson envisioned their engagement session set against softly falling snow, and their backyard couldn’t have been a better fit. As a wedding photographer in the Waterloo region, I love when couples fully lean into their surroundings — especially when it results in something cozy, personal, and a little unexpected.
They shared that they actually got engaged in Florida, where, in the excitement of celebrating, the champagne bottle they brought along accidentally ended up in the ocean (oops). So naturally, we planned a little champagne pop do-over during their winter engagement session — this time using snowflake-etched glasses that felt perfectly on theme.
Bundled up in classic denim, Olivia wore a cozy sweater and scarf while Tyson paired his jeans with a jacket, keeping things effortlessly timeless. They brought along a warm blanket and even added a vintage yellow Ski-Doo to the session, which brought the perfect pop of colour against the snowy backdrop and added a playful, nostalgic touch.
We wandered through the snow-covered paths throughout their backyard, taking our time and using the different pockets of the large property as we went. The result was an engagement session that felt relaxed, intimate, and completely true to them — the perfect lead-up to their wedding at Roseville Estate next year.
